The Thuringian Ministry for Environment, Energy and Nature Conservation (TMUEN) is seeking to fill the position of Head of the National Park Administration (salary group A 15 ThürBesG/E 15 TV-L) at the National Park Administration Hainich, located in Bad Langensalza.

About us:

The Hainich is a mountain range in western Thuringia, situated between the cities of Eisenach, Bad Langensalza, and Mühlhausen. The Hainich National Park protects one of the most important beech forests in Central Europe. Since 2011, parts of the park have been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, together with other major protected areas in Europe.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing the National Park Administration (including personnel deployment, organization, policy issues, and public relations)
Implementing the goals of the National Park based on the National Park Act (e.g. in the areas of management and development, research, documentation, and environmental education)
Collaborating with the National Park municipalities and districts
Working with regional, national, and international organizations in the field of major protected areas, as well as leading the lower nature conservation authority for the National Park area
