    Location: Charlotte Hotel

    The Omni Charlotte Hotel offers a comfortable stay with a touch of authentic North Carolina hospitality. Situated in the heart of Charlotte's financial district, this AAA four-diamond hotel is the ideal spot for business convenience or exploring various attractions. Connected to 12 city blocks through a sky bridge, the hotel is a short distance from popular destinations like the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, Discovery Place, the Charlotte Convention Center, and the EpiCentre entertainment district.

    Job Description: To prepare and cook menu items following OMNI specifications and standards, collaborating with kitchen and service staff to maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment.

    • Communicate effectively with management and handle feedback professionally.
    • Inspect station for quality and freshness of ingredients.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of various kitchen stations and responsibilities.
    • Complete prep lists for assigned work area.
    • Adhere to sanitation standards set by OMNI Hotels and health regulations.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area throughout the day.
    • Present a professional demeanor and performance at all times.
    • Assist team members in different kitchen areas as needed.
    • Perform any additional tasks assigned by Kitchen Management.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of two years of culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant setting.
    • Preferably hold a certificate or degree from a Culinary Arts program.
    • Experience with hot and cold line food preparation and cooking.
    • Familiarity with kitchen tools and equipment.
    • Ability to interpret and execute OMNI standardized recipes.
    • Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
    • Aptitude for independent work as well as collaboration within a team.
    • Hold a current Servsafe Food Handlers Certificate.
    • Pass the Cook 3 Culinary Quiz with a score of 85% or higher.

    Kitchen Tools:

    • Demonstrate proficiency in knife skills.
    • Experience with various kitchen equipment such as Mandoline, Slicing Machine, Robot Coupe, Vitamix, Stand Mixer, Immersion Blender, Grill, Griddle, Oven, Stove, Deep Fryer, Steamer, and Dishwasher.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during a shift.
    • Regular bending, reaching overhead, and squatting.
    • Lift, carry, and position objects weighing up to 50lbs without aid.
    • Push/pull objects weighing up to 75lbs without assistance.
    • Work indoors in hotel, restaurant, and kitchen environments exposed to humidity, steam, and varying temperatures.
    • Handle potentially hazardous cleaning chemicals used in Food and Beverage operations.
