Research Project Coordinator - Portland, United States - OHSU

    Default job background
    Description
    Department Overview

The OHSU Brenden-Colson Center for Pancreatic Care supports and focuses research efforts to address earlier detection of pancreatic cancer, advanced surgical and medical therapies for benign and malignant pancreatic diseases, and improved patient resilience in the wake of pancreatic diseases that undermine patient wellbeing and quality of life.

As an essential team member of the OHSU Brenden-Colson Center for Pancreatic Care, you will coordinate several important team research projects, under the supervision of our Scientific Program Manager.

The Center has recently joined a national consortium focused on the early detection of pancreatic cancer in patients who have high risk for developing it in their future.

This person will assist in coordinating this project (and others) with active management of expectations, timelines, and deliverables through facilitation and coordination of steps.

They will also work collaboratively with the Knight Community Outreach and Engagement team to assist with outreach initiatives associated with various projects, including participating in community events and improving community education and recruitment strategies for research subjects, particularly those from diverse and rural communities.

We are looking for someone who will provide a high level of customer service both internally (OHSU researchers, health providers and staff) and externally (collaborators, both academic and industry, and community members), with prompt and professional communication, familiarity with available information technology, flexibility to meet service needs and continuous process improvement.

Prior experience in oncology and/or translational research preferred.

If you have a good understanding of the biomedical research field, strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work effectively with a large team under minimal supervision, and are interested in managing multi-part/multi-phase scientific projects, consider joining Oregon's pancreas research headquarters.
