The large community of Eichenau is located about 20 km west of Munich. Diverse cultural and sports activities, good transportation connections with its own S-Bahn station, bus connection, and nearby highway access, as well as the immediate proximity to bodies of water, recreational and nature reserves, contribute to a high quality of living. A lively club life and numerous family-friendly offerings also add to the appeal of the area.

The Schmetterlingshöhle Süd after-school program is located in the Starzelbachschule in the community of Eichenau. In two groups, up to 50 children between the ages of 6 and 10 are cared for after school and during holidays.
