Job Summary:

The Dining Services Manager is responsible for meals for Health Center residents and their families. This person is responsible for the scheduling of employees in the dining services department for cooks and servers. This position will have managerial duties of ordering food and menu building.


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has supervisory responsibilities. They are responsible for personnel issues including scheduling, discipline, training, hiring, etc.


Duties/ Responsibilities:


  • Prepares all meals according to recipes.
  • Adheres to all safety and sanitary regulations governing storage, handling and serving of food and utensils.
  • Day to day supervision of the cooks and servers to ensure all kitchen employees understand and are adhering to appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Addresses and documents any personnel issues uses progressive discipline as needed
  • Ensures the kitchen staff have all the necessary groceries, supplies and equipment required to perform their job duties successfully.
  • Place food orders
  • Maintain the weekly and daily menus. Changes the menus as needed to ensure a variety of options given. Creates and display a daily menu in each dining room
  • Keep the recipe binders up to date.
  • Create the work schedule each month for the kitchen staff.
  • Process and maintains staff time cards, PTO requests, etc.
  • Works shifts as needed
  • Must subscribe to and uphold Snyder Village Mission and Values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Able to maintain good working relationships with other personnel.
  • Must enjoy working with people especially older adults.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all resident information.
  • Must observe resident's rights.

Physical Requirements:


  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves frequently during working hours.
  • Is involved with personnel, residents, families and other visitors under all conditions and circumstances.
  • May work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, temporarily in staff emergencies and to ensure proper care for all residents.
  • May be exposed to infectious waste, disease conditions, etc.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to blood and other body fluids, fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Education and Experience:


  • Cook experience required
  • Familiar with budgeting department needs preferred.
  • Supply ordering experience required
  • Food Handlers License must be obtained within first 90 days of employment
  • Certified Dining Manager Certification
