    Remote-first

    Since March 2020, our Zoomers have worked remotely and reported a better work-life balance with more time for family and personal wellness. We describe our policy as 'remote first,' meaning that Zoomers are not expected to come into an office for a fixed number of days outside of those employees identified as essential onsite workers. We continue to invest in innovative and collaborative office space and encourage employees to be in person when possible to enhance collaboration and overall engagement. The ideal candidate for this role will be located in one of the geographies where we have office space and a concentration of LegalZoom employees. This position will be remote or SF Bay Area, LA Metro, and Austin Metro office location/s).

    Overview

    LegalZoom's Brand & Creative team is seeking an experienced and passionate creative leader with impeccable instincts and an unparalleled ability to translate their POV into an inspiring vision for cross-functional partners and leaders across the company. They will use their influence, devotion to craft, and team-building acumen to lead our brand and marketing efforts and will redefine how we show up to consumers. They will push the boundaries of best-in-class creative, ensuring all touchpoints deliver on consumer needs and business objectives. They will be responsible for overseeing a team of visual designers, art directors, and producers for branding elements on our website and all marketing activity off our website (i.e. brand and performance-based marketing ads/campaigns, social media, email, internal company assets, photography). They will have a strong portfolio of video ad campaigns and video content rooted in breakthrough insights and proven marketing outcomes. They will be comfortable directing designers and art directors of all levels and will nurture their work to meet the highest standards. Their combination of creative excellence and interpersonal skills will transform the way people see LegalZoom.

    You will

    • Influence, evolve, and uplevel LegalZoom's visual design strategy and brand identity
    • Drive the development of cross-channel advertising campaign concepts and designs across a variety of products and services that are distributed through linear TV, CTV, web, and social to uniquely position LegalZoom in front of target customers
    • Ensure designs and videos are tailored and relevant to the intended distribution channels and platforms (standard and high impact web banners, CTV, YouTube, Meta, TikTok, Reddit, LinkedIn)
    • Initiate and advocate for the use of innovative tools and technology to develop assets that are both unique and efficiently produced
    • Collaborate closely with Product Design to ensure brand identity and visual design aesthetics are seamlessly integrated throughout end-to-end customer journeys
    • Establish strong collaboration with Copy team to ensure copy and design are seamlessly integrated and deliver best in class storytelling
    • Leverage research, insights, and learnings to inform creative decisions that are rooted in consumer needs and business priorities, and drive performance and brand health goals
    • Cover a wide range of activities that require complex judgments and solutions based on analytical thought, integration of business experience and comparing/selecting complex alternatives
    • Influence and secure cross-functional buy-in with executives and key partners and build the credibility needed to push our brand to new levels of creative excellence
    • Review all visual assets the team develops to ensure design principles, brand guidelines, and visual storytelling is best in class and delivers on business requirements
    • Work with cross-functional teams and balance their needs with the overarching necessity to stand out from a crowded field creatively
    • Empower, develop, and energize our internal creative team with programs and forums that build mentorship and expertise in your craft
    • Source, hire, and manage best-in-class creative talent
    • Establish and manage strong vendor and agency partnerships when needed
    • Oversee the design production function and have a strong understanding of the end-to-end workflow as well as experience working on set.

    You have

    • 12+ years of experience as an innovative brand-first creative leader
    • Ideally has experience in working in-house on a SAAS product and experience working directly with product teams on brand initiatives
    • A strong portfolio across breakthrough brand advertising campaigns and design initiatives
    • A strong desire to build incredibly creative teams overflowing with diverse perspectives
    • Ability to articulate design vision, creative ideas, and philosophy in presentations and feedback sessions
    • Ability to think clearly and contribute to editorial discussions and strategy during the entire creative production process, from concept through completion
    • Phenomenal brand development track record
    • On-time and on-budget delivery of all major projects
    • Retention and job satisfaction of team members
    • Experience in building in-house design capabilities

    LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is ($148,500-192,500). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
