    SUMMARY/


    SCOPE:
    Implements the daily operations of various university fundraisingprograms and activities. Assists with the planning of various universityadvancement activities. Assists the Vice President for University Advancementin shaping university advancement policies, management, short-range andlong-range planning.

    HSU JOB FAMILY CLASSIFICATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Qualify, cultivate, and solicitalumni and friends of the University for current and deferred gifts throughannual and monthly action plans of Moves Management steps.

    Develop and maintain an ongoingportfolio of 175+ key donors for the purpose of soliciting unrestricted,current, planned and major gifts.

    Provide appropriate staffing atadvancement and alumni events.

    Maintain constituent reportsfor every donor contact.

    Set and achieve agreed uponperformance goals.

    Strategically plan andimplement objectives with key contacts.

    Manage individual supplies,operations and travel budgets.

    Foster teamwork with fellowteam members.

    Attend life events for donorsand their family members.

    Perform miscellaneous job-relatedduties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning and Computer Skills):


    LANGUAGE SKILLS:
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general businessperiodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmentalregulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and proceduremanuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questionsfrom groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
    Ability to add,subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent andto draw and interpret bar graphs.


    REASONINGABILITY:
    Abilityto solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables insituations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret avariety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    OMPUTER SKILLS:


    To perform this jobsuccessfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software;Spreadsheet software; Project Management software; Order processing systems;Internet software; Development software and Contact Management systems.

    EDUCATION/


    EXPERIENCE:
    Bachelor's degree required.
    Master's Degree preferred.

    2-5+ years previousrelated work experience is preferred.

    Must understandgenerational differences and be able to effectively utilize the appropriatemedium to reach different audiences.

    Must be strong incomputer and customer service skills.

    Must know and useproper telephone etiquette.

    Strong organizationalskills required.

    Must be able tomaintain confidentiality concerning financial records and other personalinformation.


    Must be proficient withcomputers, comfortable talking on the phone and in meetings, sitting for longperiods of time and have ability to drive for extensive work-related travel.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    This position is a Full-Time, Exempt Level Staffposition.

    Aminimum of a 40-hour work week is expected.

    Irregular hours and evening andweekend work and/or assignments beyond a 40-hour week is required during peakseason and/or to meet project deadlines is required.

    Frequent travel is required, including evenings and weekends,especially as part of travel.

    Occasionally holiday work is also required.

    Additional travel may be required on occasion toattend training workshops on occasion.


    Must have andmaintain a valid Class C Driver's License and maintain a clear driving recordto be insurable under the university liability policy.

    Must be able to drive tocomplete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.
