    Job Description

    Supports and contributes to the execution of the Quality department's vision and strategies by coordinating process improvement and patient safety projects. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

    Experience

    • Experience in researching/analyzing data, identifying implications and insights, and basic problem solving
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Internships or co-ops in Quality, Manufacturing or Healthcare
    • Master's degree in Engineering, Healthcare, Business, Finance, or related field
    • Experience in facilitation of meetings and cross-functional teams
    Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g. Industrial, Bio-Medical, Mechanical)
    Certification Summary
    • Six Sigma Green Belt or Model for Improvement training within 1 year of employment
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Proven skills in project management to meet project deadlines
    • Ability to support multiple assignments, shift priorities in accordance with need, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
    • Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office and graphics software
    Job Responsibilities
    • Coordinates Quality Improvement projects and initiatives including involvement in national collaboratives.
    • Facilitates the delivery of basic, intermediate, and advanced quality and patient safety training modules to leaders, staff, and physicians.
    • Develops supporting educational materials that enhance the learning objectives related to process improvement and patient safety.
    • Collaborates with appropriate physicians, leaders, and staff to obtain, document, and validate information related to assigned projects.
    • Coordinates and completes assigned projects.
    • Works collaboratively with internal and external resources.
    • Compiles and coordinates the distribution of customer service reports to service leaders.
    • Evaluates and implements new initiatives that assist in the achievement of system goals.
    • Maintains professional development by expanding knowledge base of methodologies and techniques including Continuous Quality Improvement, Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, and Lean.
