Description

The Aged, Blind & Disabled Facilitator Enroller (ABD FE) Program is a subcontract with Community Service Society (CSS).

The objective is to help consumers enroll in health insurance coverage through the NYC Human Resources Administration and to assist Medicaid beneficiaries who are potentially eligible to enroll in Medicare.

The ABD FE will also advise consumers about health insurance options and conduct outreach to increase awareness of the program within the community.

Program Responsibilities:

Conduct community outreach events and presentations to educate consumers about the ABD FE services and health insurance options
Help consumers with health literacy
Attend all DOH, CSS and JCC trainings and meetings required for this grant and maintain certifications

Administrative Responsibilities:

Collect data as required
Identify consumers willing to share their experiences publicly
Complete reports as required
Adhere to all laws, regulations, protocols and procedures as defined by CSS and the JCC

Agency Responsibilities:

Timely completion of internal reports
All other projects assigned by supervisor.

Experience Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of public health insurance programs and HIPAA
2 years of experience providing social services preferred

Summary of the most important qualifications:

Valid New York State driver's license required
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to demonstrate positive regard and empathy for others required
Effective listening and communication required

Compensation:
$45,000 annually
