Physical Therapy Assistant PTA to join our in house rehab team in Milton, MA.
PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (PTA)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS
- Under a physician's order, provides direct treatment to patients as directed by and according to the plan of care outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT).
- Contributes to the interdisciplinary team meeting/process.
- Documents patient progress toward meeting established goals as stated in the treatment plan outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT).
- Provides training to patients, caregivers, and families according to the plan of care outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT).
- Completes documentation of direct treatment according to the company's clinical documentation )PCC) system on a timely basis.
- Maintains productivity expectations on an ongoing basis.
- Demonstrates consistent knowledge of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
- Promotes positive customer relations.
- Demonstrates ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field.
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
- Exhibits courtesy, compassion, and respect to patients, families, caregivers, visits, physicians, administrators, and other team members.
- Delivers services in compliance with the facilities ethical standards, policy and procedures, national professional standards, state practice acts where applicable, and current accepted state of the art practice.
- Tasks and duties as assigned by the Rehabilitation Manager or Administrator as needed.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Work is performed in the Rehabilitation Department and on patient care units.
Occasional exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, anti-neoplastic pharmaceuticals and other materials and substances that may be used in patient care or on the patient care unit.
ESSENTIAL PHSYICAL DEMANDS
- Frequency physical effort with medium to heavy objects. Transferring patients/residents weighing between 100 to 250 pounds is frequently required.
- Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary.
- Good hearing and verbal skills required for directing staff, customer relations, and marketing activities.
- Manual dexterity required for documentation needs, for manipulation of equipment and for direct patient care.
- Good visual skills required for patient/resident assessment, documentation, and report analysis.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL DEMANDS
- Requires intense attention and concentration.
- Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently for self and others.
- Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language.
- Use of computer technology for documentation in an efficiency manner.
- Associates Degree from an APTA accredited program.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in states that regular the Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, organizational and analytical skills required.
- Ability to function effectively in multifaceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize independent and effective clinical judgment, problemsolving and decision making skills.
- Utilizes effective time management skills.
