    Description
    Summary:

    The Line / Prep Cook will assist with food preparation in our kitchen as directed by the Chef or Sous Chef. The Line Cook will organize and stock cooking stations, preparing much of the food, condiments, and other items as needed.

    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Prepare and organize cooking stations in the kitchen for your and kitchen team.
    • Cook the menu items that the Chefs assigns to you.
    • Complete presentation of dishes to be sent to restaurant patrons.
    • Cooperate with kitchen team, especially Chef.
    • Ensure that dishes are timed correctly for parties of restaurant patrons.
    • Comply with health and sanitation guidelines.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    Requirements

    Required Skills/Abilities:
    • Experience cooking in a professional environment.
    • Familiarity with best line cook practices.
    • Comprehension of a variety of cooking techniques.
    • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
    • Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work well as part of a team.
    • Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
    Education and Experience:
    • High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics such as food safety, preferred.
    • Prior related experience preferred; Culinary school degree is a plus.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen.
    • Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to work late nights and unpredictable hours.
    • Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks.
