The NJ Division of Merola Tile employs approximately 130 people and distributes tile in the U.S.

and Canada through The Home Depot, independently owned tile showrooms, and numerous e-commerce retailers under the Merola Tile, SomerTile, and Elite Tile brand names.

OBJECTIVE:
Enhance purchase orders and inventory management by executing forecasts, optimizing inventory levels, and managing vendor relationships.

Role and Responsibilities

Purchase Order and Inventory Management

Analyze, recommend, and execute inventory optimization opportunities based on historical trends and forecasts.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels and reduce risk of out of stocks.
Communicate cross functionally replenishment details
Confirm, follow up, and expediate purchase orders to ensure ontime delivery
Resolve discrepancies and/or issues as they occur during the purchase order cycle
Resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
Maintain system data accuracy including lead time, MOQ, and purchase order

Supplier Management

Resolve discrepancies and/or issues as they occur during the purchase order cycle
Facilitate the escalation process
Effectively manage supplier performance by assisting with quality concerns

Cost Reduction and Margin Enhancement

Use independent judgment to identify, recommend, and execute opportunities to optimize inventories, drive cost savings, reduce lead time and improve delivery performance and attain optimal inventory levels.

Relationships

Handle sourcing, purchasing and customer service for all suppliers.
Assist in maintaining relationships with all partners in the supply chain.
Understand freight forwarder and customs involvement in supply chain.
Performance
Ensure KPI metrics are met.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Strong Excel skills
3 years' experience in purchasing preferred.
Outstanding analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
Strong analytical ability with a proficient understanding of math and inventory management concepts.
Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a timely manner.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Motivated to work independently as well as part of a team.
Bachelor's degree preferred.

Physical Demands
Regularly stand/sit for extended periods, operate office equipment, perform light-moderate lifting, lift/move up to 35 lbs. occasionally, bend, twist, and maintain posture. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
