The NJ Division of Merola Tile employs approximately 130 people and distributes tile in the U.S.

and Canada through The Home Depot, independently owned tile showrooms, and numerous e-commerce retailers under the Merola Tile, SomerTile, and Elite Tile brand names.

OBJECTIVE:
Enhance purchase orders and inventory management by executing forecasts, optimizing inventory levels, and managing vendor relationships.


Role and Responsibilities

Purchase Order and Inventory Management

  • Analyze, recommend, and execute inventory optimization opportunities based on historical trends and forecasts.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and reduce risk of out of stocks.
  • Communicate cross functionally replenishment details
  • Confirm, follow up, and expediate purchase orders to ensure ontime delivery
  • Resolve discrepancies and/or issues as they occur during the purchase order cycle
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Maintain system data accuracy including lead time, MOQ, and purchase order

Supplier Management

  • Resolve discrepancies and/or issues as they occur during the purchase order cycle
  • Facilitate the escalation process
  • Effectively manage supplier performance by assisting with quality concerns

Cost Reduction and Margin Enhancement

  • Use independent judgment to identify, recommend, and execute opportunities to optimize inventories, drive cost savings, reduce lead time and improve delivery performance and attain optimal inventory levels.

Relationships

  • Handle sourcing, purchasing and customer service for all suppliers.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with all partners in the supply chain.
  • Understand freight forwarder and customs involvement in supply chain.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Strong Excel skills
  • 3 years' experience in purchasing preferred.
  • Outstanding analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical ability with a proficient understanding of math and inventory management concepts.
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Motivated to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Physical Demands
Regularly stand/sit for extended periods, operate office equipment, perform light-moderate lifting, lift/move up to 35 lbs. occasionally, bend, twist, and maintain posture.
