- Assess and evaluate clients within the scope of Florida State and Federal guidelines, and Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County policies and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Utilize nursing skills of interview, observation, and assessment to determine the medical needs of the client.
- Use the nursing process to plan for ongoing assessment of risk factors and service as prioritized by the client being seen.
- Make appropriate referrals.
- Provide direct services to clients including immunization, administration of ordered medications, phlebotomy, urine collection and finger sticks, and other testing or services which fall within the nursing practice.
- Take vital signs including temperature, B/P, pulse, respirations, height, and weight.
- Conduct clinical interviews.
- Record and maintain laboratory record and results as required by Florida statute.
- Prepare specimens for transport to outside laboratory.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment by adhering to OSHA guidelines for the prevention of exposure to blood borne pathogens, utilizing universal precautions.
- Record client data in computer timely and accurately.
- Maintain confidentiality of all records and client interactions and services according to HIPAA privacy policies.
- Provide clinical support to provider and team as requested.
- Keep supervisor informed.
- Complete timesheet, EARS, and mandatory training in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and accompanying software.
- Ability to assess clients and make sound nursing judgments independently.
- Knowledge of nursing and public health principles, practices & techniques.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, utilizing approved abbreviations.
- Ability to maintain accurate and appropriate medical documentation in EHR system.

- Ability to safely administer medications and immunizations within scope of nursing licensure.

- License per Florida Statute 464. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code or possess a nursing multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Fluency in English and Spanish both verbal and written
- American Heart Association CPR certification.
- Valid Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Emergency Duty-Incumbent may be required to work during or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is a Registered Nurse (RN) position working in the Refugee program at the Florida Department of Health in Collier County.
Must be able to work well with others in a team setting and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Position will work between 30 and 40 hours per week and must be flexible on work hours and is a temporary position.
