General Summary
Identifies and promotes relationships with major donors with an emphasis on emerging gifts for WMUK.
Major Duties
- Develops and promotes relationship strategies for major gift prospects in assigned portfolio.
- Assists in identifying potential major gift prospects, including determining the interest and affiliation with the University.
- Builds relationships with donors and assists in coordinating strategies and personal visits for the involvement of institutional partners.
- Assists in writing major gift proposals and agreements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, or related field.
- Willingness to travel on a frequent basis.
- Demonstrated professionalism.
- Capable of motivating volunteers and donors.
- Strong self-motivation.
- Ability to work as a team member in a complex organization.
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of major gift prospects using moves management.
- Demonstrated experience in soliciting and closing major gifts.
- Experience advancing donors from annual and leadership giving to major and campaign-level investments.
- Experience developing and executing individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies with major gift prospects.
- Familiarity with public radio funding model.
- Experience working in public radio philanthropy or development.

Physical requirements and working conditions
- Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials for less than 25 pounds.
- Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
