The Department of Criminal Justice Services is seeking a collaborative and innovative team player to serve as a part-time (wage) Criminal Justice Grant Program Specialist focusing primarily on the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, and other similar federal grant programs.

This exciting opportunity allows you to assist law enforcement professionals and agencies meet their funding needs, to purchase much needed equipment or to establish innovative projects designed to reduce crime and violence.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience with grant funded programs and activities, for example grant review, grant monitoring, reporting activities, or comparable experience.

  • Experience administering or monitoring grantsrelated budgets and/or financing.
  • Experience and ability to perform complex technical duties, such as reviewing and prioritizing budget expenditures and reimbursements under multiple programs.
  • Documented experience working with criminal justice agencies or in a human services field in a professional capacity.
  • Considerable documented experience in preparing reports and making presentations to management, staff, and/or stakeholders.
  • Documented experience working as an active, contributing team member, as well as an independent and selfmotivated employee.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to think strategically and cross culturally, and independently implement new initiatives and projects.
  • Ability to articulate, both orally and in written form, clear and concise program objectives and goals and summarize achievements of programs in reports and other documents as requested.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines, handle multiple assignments, changing priorities, and ensure timeliness and quality of completed assignments.

Additional Considerations

  • Documented professional experience with grants management in a government agency.
  • Documented experience ensuring compliance with grant performance measures and reporting requirements.
