Ederer Investment Company ("EIC") is the management entity for a diverse group of mostly family-owned businesses and investments. Starting in the mid-1970s, we have been involved in a broad mix of industries. We also acquire and develop various types of real estate with an emphasis on commercial/industrial properties. Lastly, we make venture capital investments in a range of early-stage projects.
About the Role:
This is a newly created position for EIC.
Initially, this position will manage our external accounting firm through a consolidation and accounting program conversion but offers the opportunity to build the accounting function from the ground up as we scale by building efficient processes, stage-appropriate financial controls, systems, and data to make better decisions.
This role requires a proven self-starter who can work in an environment with diverse business interests, with minimal supervision. Working and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders will be critical to drive results and hit deadlines.Job Description:
Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue, treasury, tax, compliance, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Prepare, consolidate, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements from various business units and property managers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP standards.
Lead payroll, and expense management, including systems, policy, and operations.Manage cash flow by forecasting cash needs and optimizing cash management strategies, balancing returns, liquidity, and risks.
You are a good fit if you have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification ideal.
Proven experience (5+ years) in an accounting leadership role, preferably within manufacturing or commercial real estate industries.
Thorough understanding of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and derive actionable insights.
Operational focus and drive to improve efficiency across the organization.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
Proficiency in financial software applications and ERP systems (Netsuite, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
It's a plus if you have:
Experience with family office or founder-run companies.
Implemented or project- managed ERP systems conversions.
