We are looking for the best and brightest telecommunications network engineers with 4 or more years of experience to join our certified, awarding winning, and innovative information technology team Jobs are located in various parts of Maryland, such as Columbia, etc.

A telecommunication network engineer performs maintenance, sustainment of existing networks, and

identification/correction

of issues. Resolve routine network problems; operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators. Monitors data or voice system networks for various messages, alarms, or issues. Activates scripts as alarms occur or issues surface. Confirms accuracy of messages, alarms or issues and/or determines severity of problem, issue or alarm. Initiates resolution as appropriate. Troubleshoots problems using scripts and standard, routine procedures; escalates as appropriate. Researches issues to determine if problem may be resolved using predefined procedures. Resolves basic issues; documents the results. Communicates occurrence of alarms or issues and resulting actions taken to resolve or escalate problem. Executes scheduled maintenance routines in accordance with standard procedures. Identifies issues or problems and resolves as appropriate; escalates when necessary.

Activates/deactivates

network lines according to established schedules. Performs first- and/or second-level problem determination (first level is help desk). Interfaces with users and/or network vendors. Can follow detailed work instructions.

What You Will Get to Do:

In addition to general telecommunications network engineering skills, candidate shall possess the following:

Act as a subject matter expert for the customer's next generation firewall solution.
Maintain firewall operations and document current environment.
Incorporate change management into all processes and procedures.
Creation of technically detailed reports on firewall block lists, device status, change management, hardware/software upgrades, and other areas.
Analyze and evaluate anomalous network and system activity.
Assist in troubleshooting and problem solving a wide variety of client issues. Experience with change control policy and procedures.
An understanding of DOD information assurance policy and regulations.
Performing analysis of network security needs and contributes to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.
Analyzing, troubleshooting and correcting network problems remotely and on-site.
Maintaining and administering perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

Qualifications You Will Bring

:

Security+ CE certification or equivalent DOD 8570 baseline certification
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

Experience with Cisco Dynamic VPN (DMVPN) technology
Experience with Force Point, Palo Alto, and Cisco ASA firewalls required.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience with managing enterprise firewall and VPN solutions.
