Description

Responsibilities:

The following duties may be done independently or working closely with colleagues and owners.

Inventory Management:Manage and maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes and providing reports to accounting to ensure accurate financial statements. Provide significant support, alongside accounting, in annual inventory counts.

Receiving and Inspection: Oversee the receiving process for incoming materials, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards. Conduct thorough inspections and promptly address any discrepancies or issues.

Stock Rotation: Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) inventory management principles to minimize waste and ensure product freshness and quality.

Order Fulfillment:Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to fulfill production orders and customer shipments accurately and on time.

Inventory Analysis:Analyze inventory data and trends to identify areas for improvement, such as reducing excess inventory, optimizing stocking levels, and minimizing carrying costs.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate inventory documentation, including inventory logs, transaction records, and reports. Generate regular inventory reports for management review.

Process Improvement:Continuously identify opportunities to streamline inventory management processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce errors through the implementation of best practices and technology solutions.

Compliance and Safety:Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards related to inventory management, storage, and handling.

Backup for Production Planning/Production Paperwork: Provide support for production planning and paperwork as needed, ensuring smooth operations as a back-up.

Non-Inventory Material:Work closely with procurement to ensure non-inventory materials are purchased timely, liaising with vendors for delivery and supporting cost-effective purchasing.

Quality Assurance: Aid QA in traceability audits by gathering documentation, analyzing data, and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Work closely with QA on returns & holds along.

Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the organization's financial and operational health and growth.


Qualifications & Attributes:


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, preferably in a food manufacturing or CPG environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, procedures, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software systems (e.g., ERP systems) and Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to identify, resolve and communicate discrepancies clearly and effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to interpret data and make datadriven decisions.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate crossfunctionally with various departments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment and adapt to changing priorities regularly.
  • Demonstrated ability to swiftly adapt to new technologies, reporting systems, and process changes, ensuring seamless integration and maximizing the benefits of technological advancements in inventory management.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is a plus.
