Formative evaluations throughout the school year as per WCS Performance and Assessment Procedures.

Purpose of the Position:
Assist the Director of Athletics and provide support and advancement for all athletic programs within NorthWood High School
Classified as Confidential Employee:
Functional responsibilities or knowledge in connections with the issues involved in dealings between the school corporation and its employees require strict adherence to confidentiality.
Minimum Requirements:
The following are the qualifications and minimum requirements necessary for a person to perform this job.
Bachelor's Degree (Minimum), Graduate Degree (Preferred)
Certification or Licensure Preferred – Valid Indiana Administrative Certification or Certification in one of the following areas:
Registered Athletic Administrator (RAA), Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA), Certified Master of Athletic Administrator (CMAA)
3+ years of administrative, teaching, and/or coaching experience
Working knowledge of athletic programs, scheduling, rules, and regulations of the IHSAA
Essential Functions of the Position:
The following functions have been determined by Wa-Nee Community Schools to be essential to the successful performance of this position.
Work with the AD and Coaches to build all home and away game schedules & contacts for all of the athletic teams.
Manage all IHSAA event contracts for contests.Manage the hiring of officials for all athletic events, at all levels.
Responsible for professional event preparation, ensuring student athlete and spectator safety.
Maintains an awareness of facilities and facility needs necessary to operate and communicates these needs to supervisors and administrators.
Assist in the preparation of event monies.
Prepare event information sheets for opponents, officials, and media.
Prepare public address announcements.
Provides administrative supervision at home and away athletic events.
Responsible for seeing that all athletic programs and events are run in a professional and responsible manner, adhering to IHSAA Bylaws.
Assist in IHSAA Transfer Process.Manage all athletic awards within the athletic department.
Investigates and assists in the resolution of conflicts within the Athletic Department, including staff, coaches, and student-athletes; follows up with athletes who have been disciplined and maintains communication and teamwork in initiating discipline.
Maintains confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual.Assist in the organization, hiring, scheduling, and training of athletic event workers.
Flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule including evenings and weekends hours. Travel is required.
Secondary Functions of the Position:
The following functions, while important and necessary to the position, have been determined by Wa-Nee Community Schools to be marginal to the successful performance of this position.
Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating all new candidates for original appointments and works with the head coach to recommend assistant coaches.
Assist in development of advertising and marketing strategies.Responsible for assisting with fundraising initiatives within athletics including oversight of individual sports' camps.
Provides support with athletic transportation request process and communications.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or as directed by the Director of Athletics or Principal of NWHS.
Knowledge of:
Policies, procedures and functions, office management.
Policies, procedures and functions of Wa-Nee Community Schools Board of Trustees, the Indiana Department of Education, and the IHSAA.
Applicable software and applications.
Ability to:
Plan, organize, and schedule priorities.
Build and maintain positive relationships with coaches, student-athletes, and stakeholders.
Use independent judgment and initiative in making sound decisions and in developing solutions to problems.
Discreetly handle confidential and politically sensitive matters.
Make independent decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Tactfully and courteously respond to requests and inquiries/complaints from the general public and staff.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
