- Bachelor's degree required

This position is a full time, 10-month position with June and July off. Start Date: August 1, 2024.
Job Description
The Head softball Coach is responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III women's softball program, and expected to create and foster a positive culture for the women's softball team. This position will pass the NCAA Division III Rules Test, and is expected to work with the Compliance Director on all eligibility and compliance regulations. The Head softball Coach will conduct a vigorous recruiting program within the regulations of NCAA Division III and the MIAA while also working with the Saint Mary's College Admission Department to coordinate recruitment efforts, and is responsible for recruiting talented student-athletes who will thrive academically and make positive contributions to the growth of the sport program.
The Head Softball Coach will assist in monitoring the class excusals, academic progress and success of each student-athlete, and maintain a high standard of excellence in the classroom, and will prepare student-athletes for competition through challenging practices, sound feedback, and clear instruction of skills and expectations. The Head Coach is responsible for student-athlete life-skill development by offering leadership programming, promoting service activities, and supporting Student-Athlete Advisory Committee initiatives and programming.
The Head Softball Coach works with the athletic training and sports medicine staff to support student-athlete health and well-being, supports the mental health of the student-athletes through awareness, education and knowledge of available resources, and will report concerning situations or behavior to the director of athletics or through the college reporting system as required of a mandatory reporter. The Head Coach will meet with the Director of Athletics to evaluate the program and complete required reports, is responsible for promoting an atmosphere for compliance within their sport program per NCAA Bylaw , and is responsible for the education, supervision and evaluation of all assistant coaches for the sport ensuring their compliance with NCAA and department rules, policies, and procedures.
