Position Summary


The Client Aide will spend most of their time creating, planning, organizing, and implementing programming activities, events, and outings for clients under the Booth Senior Bridge Home.

The Client Aide will provide general assistance of resident's condition to the Case Manager/Program Coordinator.


Essential Functions

  • Assist Case Managers in completing documentation (intakes, discharges, reporting) as needed.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls to the appropriate individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Designs and arranges recurring events such as monthly calendars, newsletters, and themed house events.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties as needed (kitchen, common areas, room turnovers, house laundry).
  • Plans organizes and implements social and recreational activity programs designated to affect improvement in clients physical, mental and social wellbeing.
  • Develop special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.
  • Provide an interesting, creative and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the Community and promote resident participation through regularly scheduled highquality activities and/or excursions.
  • Designs, develops and conducts activities program provided on a daily basis and modifies existing programs, as necessary.
  • Develop and facilitate life skills and education classes for residents on a weekly basis and as needed.
  • Responsible for resident participation in groups/activities.
  • Responsible for educating and introducing clients to community enrichment activities.
  • Appropriately document the residents' activities and program participation.
  • Develops and maintains a positive relationship with residents, staff and management.
  • Explain rules and procedures to clients ensuring client's adherence to program policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that resident's rooms are neat and clean, hallways are free of obstructions and other safety hazards.
  • Complete all daily logs, gather all needed signatures and give complete endofshift reports lo the oncoming shift and to the Case Manager/Program Coordinator as needed.
  • Monitor client's medication as needed.
  • Follow all program rules and TSA policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or management personnel.

Working Conditions
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax, and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Required. A.A. preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Class C California Driver's License.
  • Flexible availability.
  • Background check required.
  • Attainment of at least 18 years of age.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Musi be culturally sensitive and nonjudgmental.
  • Knowledge and sensitivity regarding issues of homelessness, mental health and chronic illness
  • Ability to obtain annual TB lest and complete other required Salvation Army trainings (decision driving, PTM, etc.)
  • Basic information of blood borne infection and universal precautions including the use of protective devices.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification

Education:
Required

  • High School or Equivalent or better
Preferred

  • Associates or better

Licenses & Certifications:
Required

  • Driver's License
  • Motor Vehicle Check

Skills:
