    General Job Responsibilities:
    Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, including angioplasty, stenting and catheterizations.

    Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies.

    Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.

    Minimum Education Requirements:
    Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.

    Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

    Fellowship in cardiology, with specific training in interventional cardiology.

    License & Certifications:
    Board certification in cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
    Additional board certification or fellowship completion in interventional cardiology.
    Active and unrestricted medical license in Illinois.

    Experience:


    While specific requirements may vary, most locum interventional cardiologist positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
