JOB SUMMARY

The Digital Offset Print Manager will Coordinates printing estimates, as well as in-house services estimates, print buying, scheduling, price negotiating, and proof reviews/approvals.

The Estimator works closely with the Account Services to ensure that the project flow is smooth during the print-buying process and to make sure the projects run as quoted.

The Digital Offset Print Manager will report to the Operations Manager.


Must have at least one year of experience in direct mail and printing buying.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages bidding process and all or part of the inhouse estimating.
  • Creates/utilizes a printing markup matrix to evaluate print pricing options.
  • Coordinates job estimates for review from the Account Services Representatives.
  • Serves as primary contact with outside Print Vendors and coordinates the printing process for the Account Services Department.
  • Generates purchase orders for outside print vendors and plain paper ordering.
  • Follows quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and quality of work performed.
  • Resolves discrepancies in job progression to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Generates print billing and finalizes paperwork documentation for job jacket filing.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
  • Manages and orders inhouse material/stock, and tracks inventory on a weekly basis.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Work requires knowledge of business and an excellent command of the English language.
  • Must have knowledge of administrative procedures, and knowledge of the use and operation of standard office equipment.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Some analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Must have basic math skills such as the ability to add and subtract twodigit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s and be able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and be comfortable in a Windows operating system environment.
