- Provides care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Assumes responsibility, authority and accountability for the MRI Department during their respective shift.
- Develops and implements department objectives in collaboration with managers and staff.
- Monitors performance of staff; helps managers with counseling as needed, helps managers conduct performance appraisals; promotes staff development.
- ARRT RT(R)(MR) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered Technologist in Radiography and Magnetic Resonance
- MRSO (MRSCTM) Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO) certification with the American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety preferred, required within 12 months of hire
- Maintains current Iowa Permit to Practice
- Participates in professional society (i.e., ASRT, ISRT, SCMR, etc)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire.
- Annually applies for and maintains Level III MRI Technologist status
