Location Fresno, CA
No Remote A world leading grower and marketer of peaches, plums, and nectarines employing 1,000. 3 plants and 2 distribution facilities.
**Responsibilities:**
Accountable for the management execution, performance, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of the food safety and good agricultural practices programs for the farming operations.
Local travel to 3 farming and 2 distribution facilities.
Providing support, structure and documented formalized GAPs training for all field employees. Implement the food safety, organic, regulatory initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and compliance with specific customer requirements.
Ensure audit readiness for all internal Food Safety, FDA, CDFA, USDA, NOP, CDPH and regulatory agencies at the Federal, State, and local level and other 2nd and 3rd party audits (PrimusGFSI), NOP, customer and regulatory).
Implement the Internal food safety risk assessments for the farming operations.
Responsible for maintaining the Good Agricultural Practice documents and Food Safety programs for farming operations.
Verification of growers, harvesters and labor contractors maintain compliance with all applicable Food Safety, regulatory and Organic requirements.
Provide support for mock recall exercises to verify product recall efficiency and effectiveness.
Reports to: Director of Food Safety
**Qualifications:**
BS in Agriculture, Chemistry, Food Science or Science related.
2+ years of food safety management experience in agriculture or food production with knowledge GAP, GHP, USDA, or FSMA.
Ideal Certifications: PrimusGFSI, Grower Training Course (Produce Safety Alliance).
Experience with SQF, GFSI, BRC, GMP's, GAP'S and/or USDA audits desirable.
Seasonal business: Busy season May-October. Flexible schedule desired.
Salary: $80-90K, travel reimbursement, Company Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k), vacation.
