Job Overview
We are seeking an APP to provide hospital-based support at our south Hampton Roads hospitals.
Responsibilities include rounding on inpatients, seeing inpatient/emergency room consults, and performing procedures such as cystoscopy for difficult catheter placement, hematuria irrigation, priapism management and more.
This is a daytime only position.Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate a high degree of general medical and urological knowledge and exercise independent judgment as appropriate
Assess the patient's medical condition by completion of a urological examination
Document appropriately and communicate with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required, including, but not limited to:
evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, treatment notes, and other reports as requested
Order and evaluate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic tests
Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications and devices based on the patient's medical condition
Develop and perform treatment plans in accordance with established protocols
Order physical therapy, occupational therapy and/or home health care as appropriate
Perform hospital-based procedures (cystoscopy for difficult catheter placement, hematuria irrigation, priapism management, etc.) as trained
Requirements:
Required License/Experience/Skills
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
Licensure in the state of Virginia
