PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS


Greets and escorts guests to tables in restaurant, monitors the restaurant staff and maintains a courteous and efficient operation of the dining room to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsible for ensuring the greeting and service at the door and on the phone are at a Five-Star level.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet and greet guests as they arrive, escort to table and present menu
  • Maintain daily log book to coordinate communication between shifts
  • Maintain the physical atmosphere and cleanliness of the host stand
  • Inspect all menus daily to ensure the most accurate information is available. Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area
  • Always strive to exceed out guests' expectations
  • Run the floor plan board and assign stations to service staff
  • Observes tables and keep track of clean, dirty and occupied tables
  • Take guest information and quote wait to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available
  • Answers host stand phone, make any necessary arrangements for reservations and answers questions concerning the menu and venue
  • Maintain restrooms throughout the shift when applicable
  • Perform opening and closing duties. Assist others with side work to include cleaning, stocking and folding napkins

SUPPORIVE FUNCTIONS


This position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the Operation Manager based upon the particular requests of the company.


  • Assist coworkers, as requested, such as carrying coffee, tea pots, refilling guests cups, handling special guest requests and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Maintains a positive demeanor at all times
  • Maintain an open line of communication between guest and management staff
  • Attend required meetings
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, to include appropriate staffing levels, service equipment and guest relations

Experience:
