Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Adapted Art Therapist to join our team in Wilmington, DE. The ideal candidate will be a DE Board-Certified Art Therapist with experience working in school settings. Additionally, candidates with YOGA certification would be preferred. This full-time position involves working with students across grades K-12 who are receiving emotional supports and/or have cognitive needs. The Adapted Art Therapist will provide art therapy services to support students' emotional expression, cognitive development, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group art therapy sessions to students with emotional and cognitive needs.
Use art-based interventions to help students explore and express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Collaborate with school staff, including teachers, counselors, and administrators, to integrate art therapy into students' individualized education plans (IEPs) and support their academic and social-emotional goals.
Develop and implement art-based activities and projects that are age-appropriate and aligned with students' needs and interests.
Assess students' progress and evaluate the effectiveness of art therapy interventions through observation, documentation, and data collection.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of students' art therapy sessions, assessments, and progress notes.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, and other collaborative planning sessions to discuss students' needs and progress.
Stay informed about best practices in art therapy, special education, and mental health treatment, and incorporate evidence-based approaches into practice.

Requirements:

DE Board-Certified Art Therapist credential.
Experience working as an art therapist in school settings, preferably with students with emotional and cognitive needs.
YOGA certification or training in mindfulness-based practices would be a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and school staff.
Knowledge of art therapy techniques, theories, and interventions, with a commitment to culturally responsive and trauma-informed practice.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for using art as a therapeutic tool to support students' social-emotional growth and academic success.
