Fountaingate Gardens is Long Island's newest Independent Living Community for active adults 62 years and older, located on the 36-acre Gurwin Healthcare System Life Plan Community campus in Commack.

As Assistant Director of Fountaingate Gardens, you will be responsible for overall supervision of operational success with resident satisfaction, transition to the community, staffing needs and high-quality service delivery.

You will provide staffing direction and support through supervision, attention-to-detail and compliance reinforcement across the community.


Competencies/Responsibilities:


Ø Demonstrate ability to maintain operational goals, including fiscal operations, customer service standards, resident satisfaction, staffing standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Ø Provide administrative, financial, marketing, life enhancement, food service, and ancillary support as needed in the community. Oversee operational success of each department under the direction of the Executive Director.


Ø Comply with and require all on-site staff to abide by all policies and procedures of Fountaingate Gardens, providing guidance or further direction when needed.

Ø Delegate appropriately, maintaining close attention to detail of all work production of staff and self.

Ø Ability to effectively run the facility while Executive director is off premises.

Ø Communicate all information to interested parties, including inter-office, guests, vendors, or others.

Must maintain a discreet manner and approach sensitive or confidential information, directing information to the Executive Director immediately when needed.

Ø Able to self-initiate tasks while openly collaborating with other parties when needed.

Ø Maintain confidentiality with all financial procedures and complete each task concerning resident funds promptly.


Ø Collaboratively work with all departments to advocate for resident requests or adjustments to operations for the higher satisfaction of residency.

Ø Coordinate successful admission or discharge of all residents, including move-in coordination and execution of legal documents.

Ø Accurately document all vital concerns, information, or incidents related to residents and staff. Provide follow-up when needed or directed by the Executive Director.


Ø Assist the Executive Director with ensuring continued residency requirements are met by all residents, following appropriate action if warranted.

Ø Promote and facilitate interactive problem solving with staff and administration.

Ø Assist the Executive Director with any financial operation needs, corporate, board member, or resident requests as needed. General understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable.


Ø Provide overall community standards establishment and maintenance with collaboration of the leadership team while participating in all staff training/compliance standards.

Ø Maintain a professional manner, attitude, and dress. Maintain a friendly and collaborative demeanor with peers, board members, applicants, guests, residents, and others.

Ø Ability to hold monthly member meetings.

Ø Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.


Educational Requirements/Qualifications
Ø Bachelors Degree plus 5 years supervisory / leadership experience.

Ø Ability to understand and follow instructions while demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population. Experience in a business, hospitality, or senior living work environment preferred.

Ø Must possess a valid NYS driver's license.


Specific Requirements

Ø _Time:
_ Requires attendance in-office five (5) days per week and work one weekend a month. Also requires the ability to periodically attend weeknight or weekend events.

Ø _Complexity:
_Able to plan and prioritize work duties under the direction of the Executive Director while self-initiating task processes. High attention to detail for all work production, environment, and presentation. Able to follow complex instructions and maintain high performance in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Must demonstrate an ability to maintain tact in difficult and complex situations, including demands from many aspects of the community.

Must communicate consistently with all residents and guests of the community.
