Position Overview
This position plays a key role in assisting program members and clients in job searching and placement. The Job Developer evaluates an individual's background, skills, and interest and matches potential job openings or training programs. They coach and prepare program members and clients for interviews and entry into the workforce. This position requires knowledge of marginalized populations and the challenges and barriers faced in securing and maintaining employment.

It requires a strong understanding of program design and management allowing the ability to adjust to changing environments within the department and community.

To do so, the Job Developer requires a leader who has compassion for employees, and clients with the passion and drive to build opportunities for the participants, the department, and the organization.


Essential Functions

  • Ensure programing is relevant and addresses the needs of the population being served
  • Manage all program requirements and expectations by contracts and grants
  • Maintain organized files. Perform and utilize data management for betterment of the department
  • Aiding client in attaining driver's license, ID, S.S. card and/or birth certificate, etc.
  • Create and implement program processes, procedures, training manuals, and program documents
  • Advises on and develops employability skills; helps to explore alternative employment options.
  • Arranges for interviews and coach program members and clients on the interviewing process including dress and speech
  • Monitors participant performance on the job and counsels' participants when job performance is not satisfactory
  • Works with participants to improve job performance and gain necessary job skills or reviews other employment options
  • Maintains contact with employers during employment and reports results to appropriate staff
  • Tracks participant activity and progress data
  • Negotiate and develop transitional and permanent job opportunities through employers for lasting placement opportunities
  • Gathering and providing all available resources for job placement within the county client resides
  • Monitoring all case management as it pertains to furthering employment
  • Initiates and maintains contacts with business and industry representatives to set up recruitment profiles and provide orientations
  • Establishes and maintains temporary, fulltime, parttime, and alumni job banks
  • Maintains current with industry trends; updates labor market information by researching online resources
  • Attends meetings, networks with professional and community organizations that are involved in job placement and training activities

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to management when required
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients, vendors, and suppliers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities


Requirements:


Travel
Occasional travel (up to 35%) to different site locations

Education, Experience, Certifications, and Licenses

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years of customer service experience, preferably in human services
  • Valid driver's license
