Summary:


The Project Scheduler is responsible for providing and directing expert planning, scheduling and analyses in all phases of project planning and execution of furniture delivery.


Essential Functions

  • Develops a schedule for furniture procurement and delivery with the Project Interior Designer for each project
  • Works with Interior Design Procurement and Logistics staff to ensure furniture packages and procurement activities are on schedule for each project
  • Ensures furniture procurement activities for Controlled Access Area (CAA) furniture are procured in accordance with security requirements
  • Communicates and coordinates with the construction contractor for each furniture project, to develop schedule for submittal reviews and final deliverables.
  • Updates and maintains US Government specification for systems and freestanding furniture shipping and installation.
  • Communicates and coordinates with the construction contractor's furniture installation team to ensure required delivery is met
  • Maintains list of required documents (bills of material + project record books + installation drawings) provided by the Interior Designer.
  • Maintains Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for furniture procurement activities
  • Maintains Project Status Report and global schedule for all furniture procurement activities in ID
  • Conducts scheduled weekly status checkin with all designers and procurement staff
  • Flags issues for followup and reports potential problems and discrepancies to ID Division Chief.
  • Assures that Project Schedules reflect accurate and complete scope, schedule milestones, and conform to established templates
  • Prepares periodic and written reports in specified formats for such reports
  • Prepares weekly briefings to ID Division Chief on status
  • Keeps the COR and ID Division Chief informed of all major issues and concerns
  • Assures all changes to project scope or funding are documented.
  • Performs additional assignments, studies and special projects at the direction of the supervisor to include:
  • Serves as a Project/Program Scheduler with the responsibility for evaluating, planning and developing forecasts of time and resources needed for design and engineering projects. Based on these factors, and in consideration of other assigned programs and projects in process and projected, develops optimum assignment and completion schedules
  • Develops improvements in planning and scheduling and monitors progress and results whether performed inhouse or by contract
  • Assists the Office Director in identifying available resources for the planning and execution of project efforts.

Competencies
Reporting and Documentation, for each assigned project, the contractor shall:

  • Assure that Project Schedules assigned reflect accurate and complete scope, schedule milestones, and conform to established templates
  • Prepare periodic and specified written reports and provide data input in specified formats for such reports
  • Prepare and give briefings to management
  • Keep the COR and/or Division Chief informed of all major issues and concerns
  • Assure all aspects of the projects (e.g., authorized funding and changes) are adequately documented; and
  • Coordinates with the Project Analysis Division (PA) schedulers to ensure project schedules are kept current and reflect accurate dates and project milestones; and
  • Report instances of security violations/problems to the appropriate supervisory/management officials
  • Assumes full responsibility for safeguarding all classified and sensitive but unclassified material and equipment in assigned areas.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Frequently moves standard office equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to work indoor conditions 90% of the time.
