THE OPPORTUNITY:


The _Regional Manager_ will report to the Regional Vice President (RVP) and is responsible for the execution of business strategy at the direction of the RVP across multiple locations within the region.

This includes ensuring that sales, profit, and operational plans are attained on a monthly and annual basis through the effective implementation of regional and corporate initiatives within the assigned branches.

The Regional Manager will work directly with Branch Managers, Sales Representatives and customers within the region and travel up to 50% will be required to accomplish these objectives.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • In conjunction with the RVP, establish specific sales and operating plans and objectives for each location and participate in the regional annual strategic plan generation.
  • Provide the appropriate leadership for Branch Managers and Sales Representatives to ensure location objectives are met and regional goals are achieved.
  • Evaluate the performance of Branch Managers and Sales Representatives against plan and implement improvement action plans.
  • Ensure company operational procedures are being completed in branches assigned, with monthly follow up of progress with direct reports and RVP.
  • Identify training needs and initiate appropriate programs for development of staff.
  • Participate in the establishment and execution of branch, region and corporate sales programs and also support/participate in national Marketing/Sales initiatives.
  • Maintain an ongoing, effective relationship with key customers within the region.
  • Establish targets for key product lines and implement effective strategies to achieve plans.
  • Monitor competitive trends, customer needs and develop the appropriate strategy for potential changes in sales programs/customer approach.
  • Implement sales and operational best practices at assigned branches through training of Branch Managers and branch employees.
  • Participate & lead in depth reviews of all branch P&L's to ensure cost structure and profit optimization.
  • In conjunction with RVP, review all locations to ensure current facilities are optimized with respect to cost, size, location, and delivery reach.
  • Review delivery route structure along with RVP and Branch Managers to ensure that system is optimized. Works with RVP's to execute reorganization/new routes as needed.
  • Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, followup, and adherence to goals, coordinated in the CRM system.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 5 or more years of previous experience within the Automotive Aftermarket industry.
  • Prior sales management, operations and distribution experience.
  • Multilocation management experience.
  • Track record of successful P&L responsibilities and a keen understanding of what drives EBITDA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

  • Strategic thinking skills with a strong business analytical mindset.
  • Effective writing, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization especially in regards to training and employee development.
  • Strong customer serviceoriented focus, with the capability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and industry professionals externally.
  • Proven willingness and ability to work in a fastpaced environment while setting priorities, managing a diversity of job responsibilities with effective organizational skills, and working within deadlines.
  • Understanding and ability to utilize the various forms of common practice technology used in today's business environments, including CRM platforms.
