Roles and Responsibilities:


As the Associate Director of Design, you'll step into a multifaceted role that marries architectural expertise with leadership and management responsibilities.

You'll need to seamlessly blend creative design prowess with strategic oversight of design projects and teams.


Your key responsibilities will include:
Design Leadership

  • Lead the design team in crafting innovative and creative design solutions that align with project objectives and exceed client expectations.
  • Offer design direction, mentorship, and constructive feedback to team members.
  • Lead and facilitate design reviews and meetings with Sales Lead and clients.
Project Management

  • Collaborate and oversee multiple commercial food service projects.
  • Ensure the design process stays on course, meeting scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
  • Coordinate project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure smooth project progression.
Client Collaboration

  • Engage with clients to fully grasp their vision, needs, and requirements.
  • Conduct client presentations and site visits, with occasional travel as required.
  • Act as a consultant when necessary.
Quality Assurance

  • Uphold design deliverables to the highest standards, in line with established guidelines and best practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive project scheduling, sequencing, and expectations, even when managing multiple concurrent or conflicting projects.
Professional Development

  • Keep abreast of architectural trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to enhance your skills and contribute to the growth of the design team.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in architecture (professional architectural degree).
  • Architectural registration in any jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a design management role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizational and communication skills at a professional level.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD, with a basic understanding of SketchUp, Revit, and MS Office.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Proficient in team leadership and crossdepartmental collaboration.
  • A solid understanding of the costs associated with Food Service environments.
