Key Responsibilities

-
Planning and Scheduling:


  • Collaborate with the production control manager to schedule daily production in each department.
-
Production Evaluation and Improvement:


  • Review daily production reports for efficiency and completion of scheduled workloads.

Scrap Evaluation and Improvement:


  • Develop and maintain accurate scrap reporting methods for each department.
  • Review and improve standard plant scrap levels.
  • Coordinate with QC on key scrap decisions.

Communication:


  • Work with second and third shift foremen on plant production and employment issues.
  • Report all daily manufacturing issues to management.
  • Foster a positive, upbeat, and winning attitude among all employees.

Staffing:


  • Utilize production budget and backlog reports to properly staff and schedule hours in each department.
  • Verify and audit attendance reports.
  • Approve time card adjustments and vacation requests.
  • Coordinate with temporary staffing agencies to ensure proper staffing.
  • Approve supervisorrequested employee transfers.

Plant Cleanliness:


  • Conduct daily walkthroughs with each first shift department manager.
  • Maintain a cleanup report and record daily discussions.

Quality Assurance:


  • Address customer QCrelated problems in collaboration with sales and QC departments.
  • Communicate corrective action responses to salesmen.
  • Develop a system for monitoring and documenting results after implementing corrective actions.

Workplace Safety, Health, and Training:

  • Maintain and monitor the current safety program and policies.

Maintenance:


  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel to plan maintenance in each department.
  • Develop and maintain written maintenance communications between department supervisors and the maintenance department.

Purchasing and Sourcing:


  • Prepare purchase requests for chemicals and perishable tooling.
  • Monitor assembly component inventory.
  • Obtain bids and select vendors for necessary items.

Safety / Environmental Responsibilities:


  • Comply with the organization's Integrated (Quality, Environmental, and Safety) Policy and other relevant practices, programs, and procedures.
  • Participate in the Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Management System (EMS/OHSMS) by reporting incidents or near misses, suggesting improvements, and completing required training.
  • Cease work immediately if conditions or methods are deemed unsafe or environmentally unsound, and notify your manager.

Pay:
$ $40.00 per hour
