Safety, Health, and Environmental Professional at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

We are looking for individuals with creative ideas, diverse backgrounds, and a passion for human space exploration to take on this exciting challenge.

As a
Safety, Health, and Environmental Professional you will:

  • Co-ordinate and facilitate specialized regulatory and non-regulatory safety training courses for affected employees to increase overall safety awareness and reduce incident reoccurrence
  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for compliance with government health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Access, design, implement and review workplace processes and procedures that help protect workers form potentially hazardous work conditions.
  • Perform and collect Industrial Hygiene Samples.
  • Assist in Updating the Safety, Health, and Environmental Metrics on a Monthly Basis.
  • Perform Monthly Safety meetings.
  • Assist Wildlife Biologist.
  • Manage special projects as required.

Here's What You'll Need:


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience (4+) required.
  • Degree in environmental health or safety or related field is preferred.
  • NASA Experience preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid Texas driver's license.
  • Organizational and planning skills.
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to interact professionally with various levels of employees and the public.

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Essential Functions

  • Work Environment_
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

  • Physical Requirements_
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

  • Equipment and Machines_
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

  • Attendance_
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

  • Other Essential Functions_
Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.

Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
