Description
Duties * You will network with education officials and employment development representatives to raise awareness of occupational programs.* You will promote the Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) as a viable career assessment and interest tool to high schools.
* You will report the status of education and recruiting activities to aid leadership in making organizational decisions. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising personnel on education theories, principles, procedures and practices of secondary, post-secondary, adult, alternative non-traditional, vocational and continuing education; 2) Promoting education and training program by incorporating career information at meetings, conventions, and conferences; 3) Interpreting Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test results to aid in student career decision-making processes; and 4) Monitoring budget in support of education services programs.

Qualifications Standards Manual:
Applicants must possess: Successfully completed a bachelor's (or higher) that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the position to be filled in one or a combination of the areas described below.
At least one course must have been from (1) or (2) below. 1.Tests and measurement:
Study of the selection, evaluation, administration, scoring, interpretation, and uses of group and individual aptitude, proficiency, interest, and other tests
2Adult education:
Study of the adult as a learner, teaching-learning theories for adults, models and procedures for planning, designing, managing, and evaluating adult learning activities
3Educational program administration:
Study of the foundation and methods in organizing for adult and continuing education programs
4Curriculum development or design:
Study of the principles and techniques for development of curricula for adult or vocational education programs
5Teaching methods:
Study of teaching strategies and learning styles of the adult learner
6Guidance and counseling:
Study of the purposes and methods in counseling and guidance, the role of the counselor in various settings, approaches to counseling, and the uses of tests in the counseling situation
7Career planning:
Study of career development, learning activities, systems, approaches, program coordination, use of educational and community resources, and vocational counseling systems
8Occupational information:
Study of theories of occupational choice and vocational development and their application to the guidance process. Identification and utilization of various types of occupational information and resources.
Graduate education providing the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work of the position may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
Successfully completed a Ph.
D.
or equivalent doctoral OR Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.
D.or equivalent Help/working-in-government/unique-hiring-paths/students/federal-occupations-by-college-major/ OR Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. Additional information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. A 40 hour work week is typical for this position. Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office setting at the district or field offices and includes visits to recruiting stations, high schools, colleges and universities, employment development agencies, military shore installations and ships.
