R.J. Corman Railroad Services is currently looking for CDL-A Heavy Equipment Operators/Laborers for the Derailment Division in Tucson, AZ.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Heavy or Specialized equipment (i.e. Rubber Tire Loader, Trackhoe, Dozer, Backhoe, Crane, etc.)
- Demonstrate experienced operation and equipment knowledge
- Perform preventative maintenance on heavy or specialized equipment
- Assist in supervising small crew if necessary
- Maintain equipment appearance and cleanliness
- Assist with labor duties when needed
- Communicate with supervisor throughout the job process
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot simple mechanical failures
- Practice safe working habits
- Ensure safe working conditions and proper PPE usage as required
- Drive, operate, and maintain CDL-A vehicles and equipment
- Adhere to DOT regulations and driving permits
Job Requirements:
CDL-A and a safe work history are mandatory. Previous experience in railroad track maintenance or construction is preferred. Must be available for emergencies 24/7.
- Live within 45 minutes of the shop
- Possess a current CDL-A and DOT medical card
- Extensive travel is necessary
Specialized or Technical Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
Prior experience in equipment operation required. CDL-A License and demonstrated performance with CDL-A vehicles necessary. Basic mechanical knowledge essential.
Physical Requirements:
Travel frequently to and from project locations; operate heavy equipment; navigate into confined spaces if needed.
Environmental Conditions:
Duties performed in various environments including construction sites and around moving vehicles. Wear appropriate PPE as per project site requirements. Exposure to weather elements.

Schedule:
Monday to Friday with weekends as required.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
