The Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Quality & Compliance Director with compliance and regulatory functions within the company.
The Compliance Specialist's primary focus is to help ensure that the company is compliant with licensing, audits, various regulations, and contractual requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stays informed about relevant laws, regulations, contractual requirements, best practices, and industry standards
- Monitors changes in regulations and/or contractual requirements, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Assists in managing and participating in quality improvement tasks and initiatives
- Assists in policy and procedure reviews, participates in quality and compliance committee meetings as needed
- Prepares and organizes documents, reports, and data as needed
- Actively prepares for and participates in any/all site surveys and/or licensing visits
- Assists in organizing and conducting internal compliance and licensing audits and/or surveys, to identify trends and areas for additional development
- Maintains organized records of compliancerelated documents and data
- Coordinates and conducts periodic reviews and internal audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, contractual and regulatory requirements
- Ensures the confidentiality and security of sensitive compliance information
- Supports the Quality & Compliance Director with identifying and assessing potential risks, helping to develop strategies to mitigate any/all risk
- Collaborates with leadership to address and resolve issues that impact credentialing, licensing, and/or compliance
- Handles multiple tasks and priorities efficiently and effectively
- Manages deadlines and ensures timely completion of compliance and/or licensurerelated activities
- Handles sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- In addition, all other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and critical thinking and problemsolving skills required
- Effectively demonstrates versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Effectively collaborates and works within a team, while also effectively demonstrating the ability to take initiative and work well individually
- Intermediate computer skills
- MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Internet, Electronic Health Record, etc.
- Proven success in a similar compliance role required
- Behavioral health experience preferred
- Experience conducting audits and internal reviews
- Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
- HS Diploma/GED required
- Successful clearance of preemployment criminal/county/state background check
- Successful clearance of preemployment drug and alcohol testing
- Successful clearance of annual TB PPD testing

$45, $54,458.27 per year
