Summary:
With limited supervision, performs cardiac graphics testing utilizing various equipment along with appropriately assessing test results for pediatric through geriatric, medical, surgical, and emergency patients in both the in
- and out-patient settings. Must be able to recognize significant abnormalities in tracings according to the specific age and disease entity of the individual. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Required Job Qualifications:
- CPR certification
- Graduate from a formal cardiology training program
- 6 months 1 year experience
- Experience with treadmill testing and Holter monitors.
- Ability to deal efficiently and courteously with all hospital personnel.
- Verbal and written skills necessary to facilitate communication with a variety of personnel.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.

Responsibilities:
- Identifies each patient and reviews each patient's orders through EPIC for consistency of exam orders, with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information.
- Records pertinent data (i.e. medical history, allergies, current medication).
- Has the ability to start IV's or will be competent to start IV's after training and proficiency sign off by nurse educator.
- Reviews each examination for technical accuracy and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations to ensure proper examination documentation and charges.
- Provides a secure transport of medication utilized for Pharmacological stress testing to appropriate nursing personnel.
- Demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage change.
- Maintains equipment and cardiology rooms in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel.
- Performs clerical and transporter responsibilities as needed.
- Establishes and maintains a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with all departmental staff, hospital staff, patients, families and hospital visitors.
- Provides patient education to patient and/or family.
- Demonstrates the ability to organize patient care and set priorities to ensure the completion of work assignments.
