Description

• Must demonstrate the ability to present ideas and concepts orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner to communicate technical information and interact with individuals with diverse backgrounds and levels of understanding including management, engineers, and trade workers.
• Develop, review, and enforce departments procedures for electrical safety and compliance.
• Investigate incidents and take appropriate corrective action to prevent future occurrences.
• Insuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
• Inspect finished work and work in progress.
• Determining and controlling hazards within job site.
• Conduct training and provide guidance to staff.
• Maintain compliance with all OSHA regulations.

• Thorough knowledge of external standards related to electrical safety such as NFPA 70 & 70E and OSHA.
• Experience in electrical equipment maintenance and commissioning.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge and expertise of substation general design, setup, and components
• Ability to work both independently and part of a team to accomplish a common goal.
• Good safety record and understanding of electrical and construction safety standards.

• Valid Drivers License
• 5 + years' experience in safety
• Ability to travel, on average, 10% of the time.
• Knowledge of external standards related to electrical safety.
• Demonstrate proficiency in developing and implementing safety procedures.
• CHST and SMS certifications are considered assets.
