Main Purpose of Job
The Outreach Coordinator\r
supports the Marketing and Public Engagement efforts of the Department of\r
General Services. The primary responsibility of the Marketing and\r
Public Engagement Unit is to effectively promote, bring awareness to, and\r
increase participation in General Services' programs. The Outreach Coordinator\r
will support this effort by completing a variety of administrative tasks and\r
planning activities related to coordinating, hosting, and attending a variety\r
of events including instructional, educational, networking, and promotional\r
events. This position will also support the Director of Marketing & Public\r
Engagement in the completion of other tasks and activities related to marketing\r
and operations, as needed.\r
POSITION DUTIES
Duties\r
for this position include but are not limited to:\r
- Performing administrative tasks such as responding\r
to inquiries from internal and external customers, ordering and receiving event\r
supplies and materials.\r
- Coordinating, maintaining, and tracking all\r
public engagement and outreach activities including educational, promotional,\r
instructional, and networking events, workshops, and conferences by utilizing databases,\r
spreadsheets, logs and reports.\r
- Presenting virtual events and meetings.\r
- Participating in project workgroups or sit on\r
committees as requested.� �\r
- Identifying opportunities to promote programs,\r
resources, and services through outreach and educational events.�\r
- Transporting event equipment, materials, and\r
supplies to and from events.\r
- Event set-up and break-down including exhibit\r
and marketing equipment, materials, and supplies.\r
- Reviewing, formatting, analyzing, and\r
interpreting data extracted from various sources.�\r
- Keep abreast of relevant regulations, policies,\r
laws, etc.�\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
\r
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r
\r
\r
Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.\r
\r
\r

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.\r
2.�Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's\r
degree�from a college or university for the required experience.\r
3. BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work\r
for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare\r
Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours\r
a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized\r
health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual\r
employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your\r
medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have\r
enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost\r
for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental\r
death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible\r
to pay the full premium for these benefits.\r
Leave may be granted to a\r
contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12-month period. This leave\r
accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours\r
per calendar year.\r
