Responsible for business development, financial success, and managing staff for the department at the local level.
U.S. Residency Required.
- Compensation is $50.00$75.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications._
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Coordinate strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leaders
- Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development
- Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly
- Lead and contribute to the production of proposals
- Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff
- Establish resources staffing needs for the section
- Interview and hire staff for the section
- Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
- Professional Engineer License
- 10+ years' experience in specialized discipline
- Project management and business development experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor's degree with concentration in structural engineering
- Master's degree in structural engineering
- Experience working with AASHTO specifications and manuals
- Experience working with projects completed in accordance with NYSDOT requirements, specifications, and manuals
- Experience with AASHTOWare bridge design and rating software
- Experience with MicroStation and other Bentley products related to bridge engineering
- NBIS certification and/or bridge inspection experience
- Supervisory experience
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
