Job Overview:
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle time frame
- Utilize medical collection systems to track and resolve billing issues
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of medical coding procedures and guidelines
- Ensure compliance with all relevant billing regulations
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and other healthcare professionals regarding billing issues
Experience:
- Previous experience in medical billing or related field
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD9, ICD10, DRG coding systems
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of medical records management
- Experience with electronic health record systems
