Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for an experienced Peri anesthesia RN for a Full time Unit Supervisor position. Supervisory focus will be on Pre-Op area but will cross function with PACU.

Schedule: 4x10 shifts with flexibility; no on call requirement

The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front-line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit.

Embraces, uses, and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools.
Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes.
Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility.
Provides genuine acts of care, appreciation, recognition, coaching, mentoring and encouragement to all members of the healthcare team, to further enculturate Inova's care delivery model and results for all of Inova's strategic priorities.

Located in western Fairfax County, IFOH's Pre-op has 20 bay unit that runs from daily and the PACU has 26 bays that run from daily M-F offering a comprehensive range of surgical specialties, including spine; joint replacement; retina; breast; gynecology; general; and bariatric weight loss. We perform over 10,000 surgical cases annually using some of the most advanced technology such as Stryker Mako Robotic-Assisted Joint Procedures, Globus Excelsius Robotic Spine Navigation Platform, OrthAlign Precision Navigation and Medtronic StealthStation Navigation. The units are covered with on-call coverage on all off shifts, weekend, and holidays.

Job Requirements:

One year of nursing experience is required
PACU experience is highly desired
Leadership/supervisory experience is highly desired
Degree from an accredited school of nursing, BSN, or ADN within one year of BSN completion
RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required from AHA
Specialty certification (as required by unit) within one year from date of hire.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
