    Director of Community Relations - New York, United States - HealthFirst

    Description
    Reporting to the Vice President, Community Engagement, the Director of Community Relations leads a team of Community Relations Managers and Specialists in compliantly achieving enterprise objectives through effective implementation of strategic initiatives, partnerships, and community events across the Healthfirst service area.

    These objectives include growing and retaining membership, providing leads to Sales Representatives, achieving greater health equity for our members, and strengthening the Healthfirst brand. We have aggressive goals to attain by the year 2025 and need the right leader to get us there. This leader will seek to deliver the highest level of service to our members and internal Healthfirst constituents as well: Sales, Marketing, Network Management, and senior leadership, among others. They will exemplify Healthfirst's Trailblazer culture and demonstrate mastery of core leadership competencies to drive behavior that is consistent with our culture.

    Responsibilities

    • Driving and overseeing strategic initiatives to ensure alignment with Healthfirst's overall mission and goals
    • Lead and build a high-performing team of Community Relations Managers and Community Relations Specialists. Key will be to provide effective coaching/guidance to 4-6 senior leader direct reports
    • Lead the team to deliver with excellence as they connect Healthfirst sales teams to drive membership growth with public schools, community-based organizations, colleges, owner hospitals, community health centers, NYCHA, community providers, faith-based organizations, community boards, city agencies, and others
    • Creatively leverage our extensive community partner network to achieve critical population health/health equity objectives. Working collaboratively with the Director of Health Equity is key
    • Work with relevant Healthfirst teams to deliver difference-making event experiences for prospects and members.
    • Communicate regularly with staff to ensure they are aware of any internal changes and updates
    • Responsible for ensuring that the team is operating and functioning efficiently and with the required knowledge needed in applications, software and programs that assist them in their daily responsibilities
    • Responsible for establishing new business contacts and maintaining existing business relationships
    • Maintain and manage budget and resources effectively
    • Participate in cross-functional and cross-departmental meetings
    • Professionally represent Healthfirst to external stakeholders

    Minimum Requirements:

    • 10+ years of Community Engagement leadership experience
    • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic initiatives
    • Have a strong strategic mindset
    • Executive presence to engage with senior level stakeholders internally and externally
    • Experience leading community engagement programs.
    • Strong ability to set, track, and measure outcomes in a results-driven environment
    • Proven ability to serve the New York metro area and its diverse communities
    • Strong community ties and relationships in multiple geographies within the NY metro area
    • Community organizing and/or engagement experience within diverse geographies
    • Direct and multi-cultural marketing experience.
    • Exceptional communication skills
    • Demonstrated professionalism in public spheres to represent HF in the communities served
    • Must be highly collaborative and foster the same on his/her own team.
    • Solid understanding of direct acquisition, retention marketing, and metrics to measure success
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or relevant experience
    • Incumbent must be willing to travel throughout the five (5) boroughs of New York City, Westchester, the Mid-Hudson Valley, and/or Long Island on a regular basis

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in relevant field
    • In-depth knowledge of New York's health insurance marketplace, products and industry

    Travel:

    • This position requires some local travel

    Working Weekends and Holidays:

    • This position may require working weekends occasionally.

    Hiring Range*:

    • Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $176,525 - $225,080
    • All Other Locations (within approved locations): $121,400 - $185,725

    As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
