Material Handler and Janitor Responsibilities

Include:

• Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places
• Locating and moving stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
• Identifying damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
• Loading vehicles, trucks, trailers, etc. by hand.
• General cleaning around warehouses and offices.
• Cleaning of facilities
• Using electric and battery powered floor scrubbers.
• General use of hand and power tools a huge plus.

Job brief

We are looking for a meticulous and dedicated material handler/janitor to move packages and material around our facilities.

You will be operating a few different types of cleaning equipment with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety.

Your job could involve many different duties from scrubbing floors to safely loading a client's wine order.

You must be a responsible individual with the ability to multi-task.

The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

Labor intense job. You must be able to bend, kneel, stand, sit, etc. for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.

Physical/cold work environment. 80% or more of this job is in a refrigerated warehouse degrees).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
• Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
• Transport materials to production workstations
• Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
• Hand load/unload vehicles

- re-stacking pallets
- cleaning facilities
- scrubbing floors
- mopping
- fixing broken pallets
- building small structures or signage for warehouse use
- use of power tools/hand tools

• Pulling orders for clients
• Inventory control

Requirements:

• Proven experience as forklift operator (wine industry preferred)
• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
• Excellent physical condition and coordination
• Valid certification to operate forklifts
• High school diploma
