Brand Marketing Manager, Perry Ellis & Original Penguin
This position will play a lead role in the development and implementation of brand strategy and execution of all marketing and communications initiatives related to the Perry Ellis and Original Penguin brands, with a secondary responsibility of the strategy, development and execution of both brands' social media channels.
On a broader scale, this role works in all facets of brand marketing from brand initiatives, media planning/buying/execution, press/communications, social media, budgeting, creative and photoshoot production.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Social
Serve the Perry Ellis marketing group as a digital/interactive/social media strategist
Responsible for keeping the group informed and up-to-date with current events
Filter proposal submissions
Drive interactive strategy and programs for PEI's NYC's brand marketing efforts
Implement and manage the development and execution of digital, interactive and social media marketing campaigns
Uses best practices for social media and digital marketing to assist with the expansion of the brands while increasing sales and retaining clients
Launch the schedule and budgeting efforts for marketing programs by using integrated day-to-day activity plans and timelines
Coordinate communication and approvals of relevant programs with sales, licensing, E-Commerce and other internal teams
Photo shoot Management
Manage production of national brand image and product campaigns – manage internal communications associated with campaign. Coordinate campaign shot list needs each season.
Plan and manage production for all photography shoots – model selection and approvals, budget
Check in and maintain all samples according to buys
Partner with the SVP of marketing on the development and execution of all media plans
Assist with communication with media partners on objectives, target information, market priorities, seasonality, etc.
Route advertising mechanicals for approval, review and proofing of all copy, delivery of approved materials to outside agencies.
Track all seasonal insertions
Distribute media plans to associated parties
Licensing Communication
Liaise with licensing department
Keep marketing department abreast of advertising and visual needs, new product launches, business and events
Keep licensees aware of marketing opportunities, assets and needs
Secure all licensed product samples for brand campaign photo shoots, e-commerce and collateral shoots, as well as any additional marketing or press events
Update internal, shared website for PE/OPG employees and licensees
Handle all monthly updates:
trend books, brand books, editorial coverage, events, etc.
Ensure user experience and functionality
Communicate password and any updated information to associated parties
Marketing Communication
Oversee production of seasonal printed materials/collateral – brand image book, posters, direct mailers, bounce-back cards, and other materials as needed
Develop marketing presentations for meetings
Budget
Support SVP of Marketing in the management of overall marketing budget (including monthly accruals + forecasts)
Planning + strategy for following year marketing budget
SKILLS:
Background and knowledge of social media monitoring and social media management platforms
Background and knowledge of google analytics
Excellent communication and writing skills
Must have strong analytical, forecasting and research skills
Experience in online and traditional marketing, branding, advertising and public relations would be helpful
Should have good networking, leadership and negotiation skills
Experience with working in cross-functional teams (marketing, sales, design, merchandising, licensing, executives)
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in marketing, advertising
3-5 +years experience with in brand marketing and social media management
Background in general fashion marketing and communications as well as interactive/digital/social media strategy
Salary offered will be commensurate with experience. For this New York based position, the expected base salary is $84,000-$115,000.
