Job Summary
Responsibilities:
- Understands business requirements and needs of business owners and assist with defining data elements and data structure that the team should leverage to enable analytics capabilities.
- Gather and analyze healthcare and other related data to identify and interpret trends in support of data requests, business cases, and proposed projects.
- Design, construct, test, and maintain data warehouse and related functionality including extraction and transformation of data using SSIS.
- Design, develop, and test business intelligence outputs (including visualization) to ensure useful and insightful information using software including R, Tableau, and/or Excel to support research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Test and validate data with the purpose of understanding and making conclusions to support decisionmaking processes.
- Manage a variety of information systems and data files, including large and complex files: analyzing file structure, using and creating file layouts, transforming raw data into finished products.
- Monitor for timely and accurate completion of select datasets.
- Participate in strategic initiatives to enhance data management and reporting to support research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with a crossfunctional team of Data Scientists, Project.
- Managers, and Developers to ensure highquality data delivery to faculty.
- Proactively identify issues and opportunities to improve data systems and related policies as an aspect of data governance.
- Manage and direct junior ETL developers.
- Leads in the development of new systems, features, and tools. Solves complex problems and identifies opportunities for technical improvement and performance optimization. Reviews and tests code to ensure appropriate standards are met.
- Utilizes indepth technical knowledge of existing and emerging technologies, including public cloud offerings from Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Acts as a technical consultant and resource for faculty research, teaching, and/or administrative projects.
- Leads or coordinates teams or projects for activities relating to software support and/or development.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's.
Experience:
- Understanding of various common data models (OMOP, PCORnet). 7 years experience with ETL tools. 7 years experience with SQL, python, Java, Tableau.
- Understanding of research methodology and healthcare terminology.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Clarity.
Preferred Competencies- High level of problem-solving and decision-making skills.- Knowledge of healthcare data including ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT.- Expert in SQL and Excel.- Proficiency in relational databases with experience designing transformations, mappings, and working with reference table.- Ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences.- Critical thinking and multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.- Time management skills.- Proficiency in creating technical specifications, business cases, and other development-related documentation.- Experience in other analytic platforms including R, Stata, Python, SAS.- Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.- Experience investigating data issues and working with a cross-functional team for problem resolution.
