The BGCV is the recipient of a $3.5 million grant from State Parks to create an outdoor soccer arena/sport courts over the existing baseball field at the Club.

The project will include sport courts, the installation of bathrooms, lighting, new parking, landscaping, and exterior fencing. The project encumbrance period ends on June 20, 2024. All construction must be completed by December 31, 2025.

BGCV seeks a part time Project Manager (16 hours per week) with exceptional communication skills and a well-honed sense of urgency to represent the Club's interests, oversee all elements of the project, and ensure compliance with the procedures set forth by the State of California Department of Parks & Recreation (including reporting obligations, competitive bid processes, prevailing wage requirements, and funding regulations).

The project manager will function as the owners representative and will report to BGCV CEO, Matt Koumaras. The role can be set up for a consultant or as a part-time, temporary staff position depending on need.

Applicants should be prepared to begin work as soon as practicable, or by June 1, 2024 at the absolute latest.

Job responsibilities include:

• Selection: Create a competitive bid process to vet and help the BGCV Board of Directors select a general contractor.
• Planning: Work with general contractor to see that a detailed plan for each stage of the project is created including costs, resources, and timetables. Report on progress to owner and troubleshoot any issues.
• Coordination: Communicate with all parties including BGCV leadership and staff, State Parks, the project architect, general contractor, the City of Vista, subcontractors, and others to ensure a successful, timely and safe project.
• Budgeting: Oversee the construction budget developed by the general contractor and build an overall project budget including preconstruction and ongoing BGCV staff and other costs.
• Progress Reports: Draft and submit regular progress reports as required by the State Parks grant.
• Scheduling: Oversee the construction schedule created by the general contractor and track project progress.
• Compliance: Ensure that all work is executed in accordance with the BGCV's needs and the State of California's requirements including bid processes, billing, time tracking, and other grant related requirements.
• Safety: Coordinate all construction work with ongoing Club operations and work with general contractor to protect the safety of Club kids and staff members in addition to all those working on the project.

• Ensure that the general contractor obtains all necessary permits and approvals and oversee compliance with regulatory requirements
• Manage project related risks for the BGCV
• Deliver project progress reports and lead weekly client coordination meetings
• Collaborate with architect, general contractor, and client to support quick decision making and thorough communication
• Solve problems as they arise and help keep project on track
