- Safely drives and operates all vehicles including all vehicle/trailer combinations used in the Area.
- Stays current with all applicable state and federal regulations governing the operation of vehicles.
- Performs pre-trip and vehicle condition inspections.
- Performs basic troubleshooting and repair of vehicles and light equipment for the Area.
- Safely loads, secures, hauls and unloads all Area equipment and material commonly used in Area.
- Completes and maintains inspection forms, logbooks, shipping papers and any other reports or forms associated with the transport of equipment or materials.
- Serves as a qualified competent person on excavation jobs.
- Perform all phases of gas handling related to pipeline work according to Company procedures.
- Recognizes and reacts to abnormal conditions associated with duties.
- Direct other employees in performance of routine pipeline maintenance duties.
- Consistently works in a safe, responsible manner and actively participates in safely related programs.
- Actively participates as a work group team member and maintains a cooperative work relationship with fellow employees.
- Performs work in compliance with Company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies, such as Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of directly relevant training and experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License.
- Can perform tasks requiring heavy physical exertion in sometimes extreme weather conditions.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, be on call and standby, and travel overnight as required.
- Must reside or are willing to relocate within a 30 mile radius from the facility you are assigned.
- Possesses the desire to learn and advance, as an Equipment Operator.
